Get to Know Me

¡Hola! I am a Language and International Health major, Spanish emphasis, minoring in Non Profit Leadership at Clemson University. My hope is to work in a health based nonprofit that serves underresourced populations, specifically those that speak Spanish. I have a heart for the immigrant population, and I’ve had the opportunity to interact with a variety of cultures through my study abroad experience and having family members from other countries.

I have witnessed the hardships of acclimating to a new culture firsthand, making me passionate about serving those who are unfamiliar to the culture in the States. One of the biggest barriers to immigrants being able to thrive is a lack of knowledge about healthcare access. I hope to serve in a nonprofit that works to bridge that gap, and I specifically hope to use my Spanish skills to serve the Latino immigrant population.

I am driven by relationships and purposeful work, and I thrive in fast paced environments. My time in school has taught me the value of hard work, and I can be very disciplined in my studies while still investing in relationships and involving myself in organizations I care about. I attempt to reflect joy in the way I work, and I feel like I have the ability to value the people around me and the backgrounds they come from. I believe everyone deserves access and relational support in healthcare.
